Haha, I see Alston scooped me.
I suppose this is a lose-lose situation in terms of the appearance of fairness. Who approved of this move, and was it done because of complaints about the late mailing of paper ballots or because of (more cynically) a sense that the non-petition candidates need more time to overcome Robinson-Zywicki momentum?
I can't imagine the establishment adding two weeks to the schedule if Robinson and Zywicki were not well ahead at this point. The failure to offer any other explanation, however lame, makes that conclusion pretty much inescapable. And what will they do if the petition candidates are still ahead in May?
"Speaking of Dartmouth," the electronic alumni newsletter, was just sent out and mentions, but does not explain the reasons for, the extension of the voting deadline.
